Canadian Army General Officer Ranks Insignia Transitions to the Maple Leaf

The Canadian Army announced on April 2, 2016 that it is adding the maple leaf, our most recognized Canadian emblem, to the General Officer’s shoulder rank insignia. The crown rank insignia worn by the Generals of Canada and our Commonwealth allies will remain, representing our rich military heritage going back to the First and Second World Wars and Korea.
