Sit rep, D Day Vigil

Okay, everything is set, let us pray for no rain and clear skies....

Be advised the Thomas Mulcair, leader of the Loyal Opposition/ New democratic Party, has confirmed that he will be speaking.

Veterans are encouraged to RV at national war memorial between 14-1500. We will move to PH at 1510 in order to allow parliamentarians time to leave question period. Hopefully, we shall symbolically meet at the centennial Flame then, together, walk tot he step in front of the peace tower. Speeches to follow with cornerstone guest Colonel Patrick Stogran. Now is the time to step up, the Lump Sum Award is the primary issue of contention and those who have been seriously injured need you to STEP UP either here in Ottawa or in Vancouver.

DETAILS: On the 68th anniversary of D-Day and the storming of Juno Beach, we invite you to join us in honouring the brave Canadian soldiers who
sacrificed their lives on the shores of France fighting for Freedom and Liberty

The Canadian Veterans Advocacy (CVA) will take this opportunity to draw attention to the discrepancy between the federal government’s treatment of
traditional veterans -- the men and women who served in World War II and Korea -- and our modern veterans -- those who have more recently served on
peacekeeping missions, in the first Gulf War, the Balkans, Afghanistan and Libya.

Of primary importance is the restoration of the Social Contract and Sacred Trust between soldiers and the Nation they serve. The Canadian government
abandoned its soldiers and their Sacred Obligation in 2006 when it passed the New Veterans Charter replacing the life-time Disability Pension with
an inadequate and discriminatory Lump Sum Disability Award.
